History

In the heart of the Old City stands Beit Al Wali, an old Damascene house of the 18th century; as most of the houses it was completely destroyed by the powerful earthquake that hit Damascus in 1759, a few years later the ruins were rebuilt and enhanced back life to the Old city. An Old Damascene house of an old merchant of the 18th century has its distinguished location upon others; with its hand crafted wooden ceilings and its oriental architecture have turned it into mesmerizing scenery from the past.
