Al Pasha hotel itself is one treasure of the Old City of Damascus. It is the result of adjoining three separate 18th Century old Damascene homes. Built in a courtyard style with its distinctive and genuine early 20th Century decor, no effort was spared in safeguarding as many architectural details and furniture items as possible. Whole walls were restored exactly as they originally were and, when that proved impossible, they were built in exact replica.
